As medical staff get wary of the incessant bugging of COVID-19 - as well as the constant need for spraying disinfectants - Nanjing in East China's Jiangsu Province has rolled out a batch of "mini tanks" to do the job.

The "mini tanks," in fact some crawler-type unmanned vehicles developed under a subsidiary of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, were first used in pesticide spraying for farmlands.

Similar to pesticide spraying, the vehicles are now deployed for air disinfection in key epidemic control areas in Nanjing.

One vehicle can spray extremely tiny particles of less than 100 microns, and is able to cover 70,000 square meters per hour, which is equivalent to the workload of 20 people within the same time period.

The mini tanks, hailed by medical staff as both cute and competent, are now used in multiple places including sealed-off areas, quarantine hotels, and nucleic acid testing sites.
