A prison in Southwest China's Sichuan Province recently gained a lot of views for posting a series of videos on social media introducing "life in prison" after a famous Chinese celebrity was arrested by police for alleged rape.

The videos that the Sichuan prison posted on the short-video sharing platform Douyin showed what prison really looks like and covered a detailed timetable of prisoners, including their daily meals and activities.

The prison's administration also actively answered questions of netizens, such as whether celebrities receive special treatment.

The videos have gained more than one million views on Douyin as of press time. A netizen commented that the prison has "tried really hard" to satisfy the curiosity of people on what "life behind bars" is like after Chinese-Canadian pop idol Kris Wu Yifan was arrested under suspicion of rape on Monday.

The 30-year-old Canadian actor, singer, producer and model was detained by Beijing police on July 31. As one of China's biggest stars, Wu faces a series of sexual abuse accusations from 19-year-old student Du Meizhu.
