Beijing's Universal Studios Resort announced on Tuesday that it will kick off a trial run from September 1 after three months of stress tests. 

The trial run is open to invited guests, including the resort's partners, as well as a limited group of fans chosen from marketing campaign.

The resort, located in Beijing's Tongzhou District, consists of the Universal Studios theme park, the Universal CityWalk and two hotels, with 37 recreational facilities and themed attractions, 80 restaurants and 30 shops. 

Throughout the trial run, testing, rehearsals and traffic flow restrictions will be undertaken in accordance with coronavirus prevention and control requirements. Guests can experience part of attractions, entertainment facilities, shows and dining services at the theme park.

Miao Lewen, president of Universal Beijing Resort, was quoted as saying in a CCTV report that the resort will reduce the operation of rides, entertainment facilities and performances during the trial run. 

"The trial run is like a rehearsal before the official performance, through which the invited visitors have the opportunities to give feedback to us, so that we can improve our service before the grand opening," Wang said.

The opening of the theme park has been postponed for several months due to the virus. It has resumed pre-opening stress tests, including ensuring safe operation of rides and attractions, the park's capacity for hosting large crowds and encountering extreme weather.

When opened, Universal Studios Beijing will be the fifth universal studios in the world and the third in Asia, featuring 14 super large attractions.
