A research paper titled "The typical performances and correction strategies of tsundere female officials" faced criticism for female discrimination and stereotypes. Its author denies the accusation of insulting and discriminating women and apologized to the public for her harsh and improper words.

The paper, published in Leadership Science magazine in January 2021, points out affectation, disparate treatment and insincere pretext as three typical performances of tsundere female officials. The author suggests that the tsundere behavior can be rectified through individual correction, organizational education and systematic management.

The author, Xu Fang, associate professor of the Party School of the CPC Hunan Committee, told The Paper that the topic was given by the Leadership Science magazine and had passed reviews before publication.

As for the criticism on gender prejudice, she denied the accusation of smearing or judging female cadres and explained she only hoped to pinpoint and correct tsundere problems of some women cadres. She apologized for her harsh expressions in the paper.

"Funny! A woman cadre wrote a paper criticizing women cadres," one netizen wrote on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo. "She should study the tsundere men cadres too, but careful not to lose her job," joked another one.
