A snake was found in a resident's home in Huai'an, East China's Jiangsu Province, after it swallowed eight birds in a row raised by the elderly resident. The resident captured the snake using a basin and released it later, Toutiao News reported on Tuesday.
"I was frightened at first, but after seeing it kill eight birds, I felt angry and pluck up the courage to capture it with a basin," said the resident.
The elderly man then called firemen for help. The firemen successfully captured the snake with a snake trap and took it to a riverside where it was released.
It's the first time that they had encountered a snake while it was food hunting, a fireman said. "We didn't know it could eat so much. It was heavy when I held it in my hands."
