Chinese artist Shu Yong was awarded at the Belt and Road Cultural and Creative Competition as the China International Fair for Trade in Services wrapped up on Tuesday.

He received a lifetime achievement award at the China National Convention Center, in front of which stood his art installations the Golden Bridge on the Silk Road.

The Belt and Road Cultural and Creative Competition aims to discover talents and creative designs to promote and carry out the spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Shu's Golden Bridge on the Silk Road, which debuted at the Milan Expo in 2015, is made from more than 20,000 bricks, each of which features a different national flower of countries taking part in China's Belt and Road Initiative.

The design is inspired by the renowned ancient Zhaozhou Bridge, China's oldest standing stone arch bridge.
