The Foreign Ministry rebuked the US Customs and Border Protection agency for impounding solar panels from Jinko Solar, a Chinese PV giant, on claims that materials used to build the panels were produced using "forced labor" in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The so-called forced labor in Xinjiang is a completely lie as China has clarified using fact-based evidence on multiple occasions, and more and more people across the international community have lent their voices to support China, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian, said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

The US relies on falsehoods as an excuse to withhold photovoltaic products from Chinese firms, exposing the US' bad faith efforts to disrupt the development of Xinjiang, impair international supply chains, and damage the global efforts made for improving for the climate change.

China will take necessary action to protect the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises and urge the US to stop suppressing Chinese firms, said Zhao.
