China Southern Airlines teams up with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to extend care campaign to more international passengers

Tuesday is the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and an important day for family reunion for overseas Chinese from around the world. 

On China Southern Airlines' flight CZ3039 from Singapore to Guangzhou, a calming voice on the in-flight cabin broadcast said, "China Southern Airlines and the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) have prepared complimentary hotel quarantine and pandemic prevention kits for all passengers returning home from Singapore, extending our airline's high-quality services during the quarantine period. We hope you can reunite with your family as soon as possible. China Southern Airlines is always here to safeguard your every journey."

One passenger, surnamed Wu, said after receiving the hotel quarantine kit from a flight attendant, "China Southern Airlines safely flies overseas Chinese from across the world to the places they most want to go for the people they most want to see during the Mid-Autumn Festival. What's more, they give passengers a heart-warming and highly useful hotel quarantine kit, it really is a pleasant surprise and we are all touched by this special arrangement."

Each kit consists of a selection of local specialties from New Zealand, including protective face masks, an oral care set, milk powder, manuka honey sweets, lingerie laundry liquid, hand sanitizer, together with other items including a notebook and cosmetic bag. 

The first set of kits has already been distributed on China Southern Airlines' Auckland-Guangzhou route, and the Singapore-Guangzhou route has also been included during the 2021 Mid-Autumn Festival. More passengers will benefit from this project throughout major Chinese holidays including the upcoming National Day holidays, New Year and the Spring Festival.

In total, 10,000 international passengers will feel the sincere care from both sides and experience China Southern Airlines' branded service featuring "Affinity & Refinement."

Cheng Yong, the executive vice president of China Southern Airlines said, "China Southern Airlines took the initiative to participate in China's pandemic control and prevention cause, supporting the fight against COVID-19 , sharing 'China Southern Solutions', and transforming our vision into a way for passengers to enjoy good health. This project extends our premium services to quarantine hotels thanks to this friendly cooperation with NZTE, benefiting 10,000 international travelers returning to China. At the same time, this is also a co-branded project between both sides. China Southern Airlines prioritizes its relief flights to passengers impacted by the spread of the virus. In the wake of the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020, China Southern Airlines formulated a transportation support plan, and was the first airline in China to announce a complimentary transport policy for personal protective equipment (PPE). 

Major transport missions were safely completed with 19,000 medical relief flights operated, which in turn safely transported more than 25,000 medical staff and 29,000 tons of medical supplies, repatriating more than 24,000 Chinese citizens who were stranded abroad.

China Southern Airlines has strictly implemented the latest pandemic prevention and control policies and actively supported the global fight against the pandemic. China Southern Airlines has also made substantial donations of PPE to global partners, actively responded to the needs of the international community and contributed to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

In 2020, China Southern Airlines donated more than 310,000 masks and gloves to international partners including the International Air Transport Association, Korean Air, Qatar Airways, KLM and Finnair and sent letters of support to 40 global partners.
