Huami, a company that is known for making wearable devices, unveiled its fashion smartwatch Amazfit GTR 3 and GTS 3 series on Tuesday, a fresh move in the smart wearable market.

The Amazfit GTR 3 and GTS 3 series are equipped with Huami's self-developed smartwatch operating system Zepp OS for the first time, paired with a new generation of BioTracker 3.0 PPG biological tracking optical sensors, which fully upgrades health, sports, and smart experiences.

Amazfit has developed into an independent brand with five mainstream smartwatch series, which has entered more than 90 countries and regions around the world and has more than 24.19 million users, according to a release sent to the Global Times.

According to data released by IDC in June, shipments of Amazfit smartwatch have ranked the fourth in the world, ranking first in Spain, Russia, Brazil and other countries.

Huami Technology in September released its second-quarter financial report. Total shipments reached 11.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 29.2 percent. Revenue rose 61.4 percent year-on-year to 1.8 billion yuan ($279 million).

A report from Canalys showed that the global smart wearable market has been growing for many consecutive quarters, but there's been a noticeable shift in the smart bands/smartwatches dynamic that started in the fourth quarter of 2020, when smartwatches became the main driving factor for growth.

Overall shipments grew 5.6 percent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2021 while basic bands' sales fell 23.8 percent.

The decline was offset by full-fledged smartwatches, which grew an impressive 37.9 percent year-over-year and now account for 62 percent of global sales.
