Chinese costume manufacturers made a fortune during Halloween in 2021 due to the popular drama Squid Game. Costumes vendors in Yiwu, East China's Zhejiang Province, told the Global Times on Sunday that daily sales of multiple Squid Game costumes hit as much as 3,000 units.

"According to the overall order numbers, the average daily sale volume is around 3,000 and the capacity of her factory can reach 5,000 costumes a day," she said.

Another costume maker in Futian, South China's Guangdong Province, whose daily production capacity can reach 5,000 units, said that his factory had to work overtime to meet the market demands of multiple costumes in previous days but the hype surrounding Squid Game had declined a little.

Zhao Xin, a resident in Beijing, told the Global Times on Sunday that she discovered multiple restaurants and bars in Beijing held Halloween parties on Saturday night. "I suddenly understood how popular Squid Game had become when I saw so many people wear the costume of the drama on the street," she said.
