5G signal to spread nationwide by end of 2022: China Mobile

China Mobile, the largest telecom operator by subscribers, vowed to deploy a 5G signal in nationwide rural regions at township level by the end of 2022, said Yang Jie, president of China Mobile on Tuesday.
 
At the China Mobile Global Partner Conference 2021 held on Tuesday, Yang said the company would provide high quality telecom and internet services with the latest 5G network. China Mobile will deploy a 5G signal among key industrial areas and advanced rural areas.
 
Dong Xin, general manager of China Mobile, revealed at the conference that China Mobile has built the largest number of 5G base stations worldwide with over 560,000 units. China Mobile also leads with 134 international 5G benchmark programs and 3,300 5G patents.
 
China Mobile also vowed to apply 5G technology to cracking down on telecommunication fraud, disaster relief and securing the country’s cyber security.
