Recently, photos of some beautiful chandeliers and relief paintings created from cans have been circulating on the Chinese Internet. The artist behind these beautiful works of art is a 45-year-old former chef.

The artist surnamed Li switched careers after 11 years as a chef and taught himself to make can paintings. He has been doing it for the past 16 years. Over the years, he has made beautiful chandeliers with hundreds of cans pulling rings and created hundreds of relief paintings made from can carvings.

Li told media that he has no art foundation and the can painting is purely a personal hobby. "At the earliest, I happened to use a ballpoint pen to carve patterns on cans, and then I wanted to develop it further."

"It's just so beautiful and not at all inferior to traditional artwork," a netizen commented on China's Twitter-like platform Sina Weibo.
