Today Art Museum dialogue explores performance art of Yao Qingmei

The Today Art Museum in Beijing kicked off a dialogue for its first resident artist Yao Qingmei on Saturday. Featuring key words like "public intersection," "theaters" and "rehearsal," the dialogue attended by Yao, who spent years living and working in France, art critic Yu Miao and the museum's vice president Yan Yan, took aim at the artist's performance art. 

According to museum president Zhang Ran, as the museum's first resident artist, Yao is attempting to get people thinking through performance art and video experiences. The residence project is not just an interaction between the artist and the museum, but also expands to more open space.
