China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Tuesday issued development plans for the robotic industry and intelligent manufacturing sector during the 14th Five Year Plan period (2021-25), which were published on its official webiste and focusing on a future development strategy targeting advanced technologies.

Under the plan, China's robotics industry will become a global center of technology innovation, manufacturing and application, which to center on breakthroughs of core technologies and high-end products. Quality of complete robots and key components should reach leading international standards, the plan stated.

For robotics companies, the government will offer support for them, in order to form a group of industrial leaders with international competitiveness and innovation capability, the plan said.

In addition, China will establish three to five robotics industry zones and double the current intensity of robots manufacturing. The annual growth rate of the robot industrial revenue should exceed 20 percent, according to the plan.

By 2025, over 70 percent of large-scale Chinese enterprises should be digitalized and over 500 demonstration manufacturing facilities will be built nationwide. In addition, the plan also stated an intention to increase the supplies of manufacturing equipment and software of 200 domestic industry leaders.
