The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport issued evaluation standards for a credit system targeting bike-sharing companies, which may be used to regulate bike-sharing internet platforms' compliance with the law.

The document was issued on December 16, 2021 and was open for public comment until December 23.The document sought to evaluate bike-sharing platforms from a list of 20 indicators under six disciplines linked to adding or deducting credit points.

There are three major bike-sharing platforms in Beijing -- Didi Bike, Alibaba backed Hellobike and food delivery platform Meituan backed Mobike.

The Beijing municipal transport commission vowed on December 3, 2021 to further enhance regulations for the sector and cap the deployed number of shared bikes in central Beijing districts to less than 500,000 units.
