A supermarket in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province was attacked by Bitcoin blackmail hack-ware, saying that the cashier system of the supermarket taken offline until the store owner paid a ransom in Bitcoin, Chinese news outlet paper.cn reported on Wednesday. 

The supermarket's cashier system had been down for nearly two weeks, and the supermarket's stored value card could not be used due to the failure of the system. The local public security department is investigating the case, according to the media report. 

According to the report, the store value card management system of the supermarket suddenly went down in the latter half of December, with all data of the server hacked and inaccessible. 

A document file named in English means "How to unlock my profile" appeared in the cashier computer and contained the hacker's message ordered the computer user to pay 0.042 Bitcoin within 24 hours plus overseas email address and Bitcoin account number. 

An employee of the supermarket said customers could pay by cash or WeChat Pay and Alipay in the store except using its stored value card. As of time of press, Bitcoin was valued at $43,730.80.
