China's largest chipmaker Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) said on Tuesday that it has made $1.22 billion in revenue in the first two months of 2022, representing an increase of 59.1 percent year-on-year.

Moreover, the company's profits attributable to stakeholders amounted to $309 million for the same period, up 94.9 percent compared with the same period in 2021, according to an announcement by the company on Tuesday.

SMIC said in February that its factory expansion was going smoothly with three projects that will increase its output upon completion amid the ongoing crackdown by the US.

The company reported a record high revenue of $1.61 billion in Q4 of 2021, an increase of 53.8 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, SMIC also announced in February that its revenue reached $5.4 billion in 2021, with an annual growth rate of 39.3 percent, as the company became the fastest growing among the top four pure-play semiconductor foundries in the world.
