One Chinese died, three injured from a rollover accident in Los Angeles, Chinese Consulate General confirms

One Chinese student died and three others got injured from a rollover accident on Friday that occurred in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, southeast of Los Angeles, the Consulate General of China in Los Angeles confirmed.

The Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles has contacted the families of the victims and will provide necessary assistance to their handling of the aftermath. The specific identification of those victims was not revealed by the consulate. 

According to the Los Angeles Times, the deceased, 29, is a third-year graduate student from Chapman University, named Wang Peng. Wang had engaged in several film shorts recognized by film festivals and worked on the Los Angeles Film Awards best drama short “Daemon,” the LA Times said. 

The three others were University of Southern California (USC) film students who were taking pictures on a large sand dune in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, the LA Times reported.
