According to the latest news on the official website of Henan Provincial Forestry Bureau, the Asian elephant Molly left the Qinyang Swan Lake Ecological Park on Sunday and was sent to the Kunming Zoo.

Molly, the first third-generation Asian elephant to be bred at the zoo, was born at Kunming Zoo in Southwest China's Yunnan Province in 2016. In 2018, Molly was transported to Qinyang Swan Lake Park for "adjusting the species' kinship." After netizens revealed that Molly was forced to perform in a series of zoos in Henan, it sparked public concern and heated debate. On September 16, 2021, the official account of Jiaozuo Forest Zoo published the announcement that after investigation, it was ascertained that Molly had not been mistreated or abused and was found to be in good health.

The cries of "save Molly" never stopped. After a scientific assessment and comprehensive evaluation to respond to public concerns and provide better living and growth conditions for Molly, she was sent to the Kunming Zoo. Many netizens left comments saying they would keep an eye on Molly's conditions at the Kunming Zoo.
