China's huge market remains attractive for foreign capital, and the country will continue to improve investment environment to deliver more conveniences to overseas investors, said Shu Jueting, a spokesperson from China's Ministry of Commerce, on Thursday.

Shu's remark was made during a regular media conference in response to a question about China's foreign direct investments in the first quarter of 2022, which staged a significant growth of 20.5 percent in the first four months year-on-year.

Shu noted that Chinese market's attraction for foreign investment remains positive as the economy and society are gradually returning to normal while taking firm measures to control the spread of the coronavirus.

Shu reaffirmed that China's economy will keep stable and upwards growth in the long term. "Multiple departments have worked together to stabilize foreign investors' confidence in Chinese market by hearing from investors' feedback and optimizing relevant policies," Shu said.

Shu also mentioned China has been improving its investment environment by modifying and improving 500 relevant laws and regulations.
