On Saturday, the Forbidden City Concert Hall (FCCH) announced that ticket sales have begun for the first 48 performances for its annual Open Door to Art festival in Beijing.

According to Xu Jian, president of FCCH's managing company, the year 2022's iteration of the festival will host a total of 70 performances, including Chinese folk music, jazz, dance and puppet shows for children, and 10 themed summer camps throughout the summer.

Xu said that the upcoming summer camps will focus on China's traditional art forms like Kunqu Opera and Peking Opera and musical instruments like pipa and guqin, aiming to bring young children back to tradition.

Conductor Tan Lihua, one of the festival's co-founders, noted that over the past 29 years, the summer festival has gained popularity among children and helped them realize the charm of music.
