Ximalaya to release Chinese audio books for ‘Harry Potter’ series in June

Ximalaya, China's online audio platform, announced Tuesday that it will be releasing officially authorized Chinese audio editions of the Harry Potter books on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, Ximalaya collaborated with Pottermore Publishing, the global digital publisher of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts series and other audio books and eBooks from the Wizarding World, to produce the new audio books, which will feature the talent of top voice acting organization Voice Gem and its leading voice actors such as Jiang Guangtao.

Through professional voice acting, fine production and rich sound effects, the upcoming audio series will present listeners with an auditory feast that is sure to attract more people to the Wizarding World, the statement said.

The first audio book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone will be released onTuesday, with the other six titles in the series to follow in the future. 

For those who are not willing to wait to listen to the entire series, the complete collection of the English audio books will also be released on Ximalaya on the same day.   

One of the best-selling book series in global history, the Harry Potter books quickly earned a following around the world after the first book Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in the UK in 1997. 

The Harry Potter books have since been translated into more than 80 languages, won multiple awards and sold more than 500 million copies worldwide.

In China, this IP has soared in popularity since it was first translated into Chinese in 2000. It is an indelible childhood memory and unique fantasy classic in many people's hearts.
