World Intelligence Congress kicks off Friday, discussing AI, digitalization, environment protection

The 6th World Intelligence Congress (WIC) will be held online in Tianjin from Friday to Saturday, the committee of the congress announced on Wednesday. The congress will focus on multiple topics covering artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent manufacturing, the digital economy and carbon emissions reduction. Also, 30 relevant forums will be held.

A total of 15 summits about AI ethic issues, car networking, 5G+ industrial internet, intelligent media and city energy will be co-held by top national departments and institutes including China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), China Media Group and others, issuing latest technological achievements and industry standards.

The 6th WIC invited 256 global leading enterprises and industry pioneers to the online exhibition, which includes 22 enterprises listed in Fortune Global 500 such as Huawei, Tencent, CRRC Co and Stryker, and over 30 universities and research institutions of University of Science and Technology of China, Harbin Institute of Technology and others.

Guests including diplomatic envoys from the main guest country, the UK, and important partner country, the Israel, Nobel Prize and Turing Award winners, academicians from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Fortune 500 entrepreneurs in the field of intelligent technology, will attend the congress.

During the congress, Tianjin, the host city, will set up an online live interactive platform to achieve capacity for 100 million audiences, presenting latest ideas and perspectives in the field of intelligent technology to the global audience.

A total of five competitions in fields of intelligent driving, industrial app innovation, algorithm, e-sports, and robot will be held during the congress. The industrial app innovation competition has the largest scale and most influence in China, which has been held for four times. The RoboCup Asia-Pacific Tianjin international Tournament 2022 has received applications from 137 teams from 11 countries including Singapore, Japan, the US and Germany so far.

Tianjin vowed to accelerate the building of municipal manufacturing industry and international consumption center basing on the 6th WIC. Three cooperation agreements will be signed with MIIT during the congress, and to deepen cooperation with enterprises.
