The second China Digital Art Fair is set to be held in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, in December, organizers announced on Thursday. 

The fair will demonstrate the latest digital techniques and display today's most popular digital artworks.

With the application of big data, blockchain, 5G, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and the Internet of Things, 2021 became known as the first year of the metaverse. This winter, both the virtual and real world are set to collide once again.

How to integrate digital techniques and culture has become the latest topic of discussion, as well as a brand new trend that has given rise to innovative industry formats, new fields and fresh life experiences for people.

The second China Digital Art Fair (Chengdu) follows in the footsteps of the First Digital Painting Art Experimental Collection with New Material, Schema and Concept fair that was held successfully in Chengdu in 2019. The December fair aims to integrate research and development, exhibitions, trading and forums, to build an exchange platform for showcasing and trading digital art.  

The event is divided into five parts. For instance, in the research and development section, sci-tech firms will be invited to demonstrate their newest techniques, while exhibitions will bring together the latest hot digital artworks.

Digital collection and trading platforms will be invited so digital cultural and creative companies can market their works.

A forum named Digital Hyperlink will also be held during the event to discuss three issues: new domains of digital arts, digital art collectables in China and the future of the metaverse.

The event is set for December 17-25 and industry insiders such as Lu Rongzhi, renowned international planner and the initiator of the Venice Metaverse Annual Art Exhibition, will attend.Second China Digital Art Fair heads to Chengdu in December
