The Dehua kiln is a famous kiln in ancient China for its white porcelain known as "China White." Since the Song Dynasty, the Dehua white porcelain has always been an important source of exported goods for the Silk  Road, the Dehua white porcelain enjoys a high  reputation in the history of Chinese arts and crafts.

Chen Mingliang,  a master of Chinese arts and crafts and a national representative inheritor of the "Dehua Porcelain-Firing Technique" project of the Chinese intangible cultural heritage, is also an outstanding representative of the contemporary inheritance and promotion of the "He School" style of statue-making and porcelain sculpture arts.

In the traditional shaping path, Chen Mingliang has mastered the core "fast, accurate and fierce"techniques when it comes to the Dehua porcelain sculpture , and is swift and precise in grasping the shape and shaping the gods. His sculptures focus on the subtle treatment of expressions and body postures, coupled with a sharp hand in the practice of clothing patterns, and have a pure Dehuaflowing and rounded style.

For his own creations, he takes his master's shaping skills as a model, strives for perfection, and will not hesitate to smash and redo any unsatisfactory work. He pays attention to the quality of technology, porcelain works of fine texture and solid, tight combination of tire glaze, porcelain pigment as white as fat, warm as jade, good transparency, which  is the current Dehua white porcelain of the finest treasures. His porcelain portrayal style is orthodox and has a deep "He School" artistic charm.

Chen has worked extremely hard, and he has been devoted to understanding the craftsmanship of his predecessors in the firing process, constantly improving and optimizing the formula of tire and glaze, successfully developing traditional porcelain glaze colors such as "ivory white" and "lard white," while also creatively firing successful "coral red " and other new products.

For example, the precious state guest porcelain "Daylight" made for the 2017 BRICS conference in Xiamen, with its unique shape and decoration especially suited to the characteristics of the material, complement each other in a harmonious relationship that further highlights the heart-stirring and elegant beauty of the Dehua porcelain.

Ceramic art is a unity of techniques and aesthetics. An excellent work must not only be perfect in the process of clay training, ingredients, shaping, carving, firing and other aspects of the process, but also in the spiritual content and artistic charm to achieve the peak. Because of this, Chen Mingliang creates each piece with a lot of efforts and deep emotion. He hopes to adhere to the craftsmanship of the Dehua porcelain art in terms of form, color and texture, and to keep up with the times to meet the contemporary aesthetic style.
