'Standard of times, beauty in GBA' - art exhibition

This new exhibition is in Dongguan for the second stop of its tour of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) aimed at bringing exquisite works by dozens of Chinese artists to art lovers.

The exhibition is being held at the Keyuan Museum, one of the four most famous parks built in Guangdong Province during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

During the Qing Dynasty, the building that houses the museum was once the personal residence of Zhang Jingxiu, who invited brothers Ju Lian and Ju Chao, bird-and-flower painters, to create art for his beautiful garden.

On display are paintings and calligraphy works by influential Chinese figures from the 20th century, such as beloved contemporary artist Qi Baishi and leading artist Wu Guanzhong, known for his distinctive style that fuses Western and Chinese art.

The works on display at the exhibition come from different painting schools such as "New Jinling" in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province to "Lingnan," a Cantonese painting school that originated in Guangdong Province.

'Eternal Scenery' - art exhibition

Have you ever wondered how natural landscapes and people from different walks of life were depicted in the 19th century Western art? This exhibition in Nanjing, so far the most comprehensive Western oil painting exhibition ever been launched in the capital city of Jiangsu Province, is going to bring you the answers.

The exhibition includes a total of 104 oil paintings created by masters such as Pierre-Auguste Renoir, a leading figure of the impressionist art movement; and Theodore Rousseau, a pioneer of the Barbizon group that focused on realist artistic depictions of natural landscapes.

The show is therefore a cultural feast for art lovers in China who are keen to see  authentic European classics.

The exhibition has been divided into six sections with poetic themes: Holiday Garden, Forest Light, Pastoral Delight, From the New Land, Sailing in the Fog and Meet Kids.

The Meet Kids section is special in that it aims to help children better appreciate these masters' paintings by displaying some of their more colorful, dreamy and innocent-looking painted works.

The exhibition is therefore suitable for not only adults but also "little" art lovers. Besides standard adult tickets, a family package ticket for one child and one adult is also available.
