The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) delivered its 100th ARJ21 aircraft to customers on Thursday, showing that China's homegrown regional jetliner has entered its mass production period.

The delivery shows that the safety and reliability of this aircraft have been recognized by airlines and welcomed by the civil aviation market, COMAC said.

China's domestically-developed ARJ21 regional aircraft has gone through the whole process of jetliner design, manufacture, test, flight test, mass production, delivery and operation, the ARJ21 aircraft has been delivered to customers including Chengdu Airlines, Jiangxi Airlines and Air China, opening 316 routes of 118 cities, and carrying nearly 6 million passengers.

Along with the operation of ARJ21 aircraft, COMAC said it has established an operation support system that meets airworthiness standards, and has basically completed the service guarantee capabilities that meet the batch production delivery and large-scale operation and stably provide customers with personnel training, operational support, maintenance support and other all-round services.

On December 18, the ARJ21 was delivered to its first overseas client TransNusa, an Indonesian airline, marking China's first indigenously developed passenger jetliner's entrance in the foreign market.

The delivered aircraft is designed with 95 seats, all economy class. Its outer appearance is painted blue, yellow, and green, COMAC said.

COMAC won the production certificate of ARJ21 in June of 2017, and now it has a yearly production of 50. The ARJ21 regional aircraft has a range of up to 3,700 kilometers. It can fly in alpine and plateau regions and is adaptive to various airport conditions.
