The China Ice and Snow Overseas Tourism Promotion Season was held in Singapore on Sunday, aiming to introduce ice and snow tourism, especially in the northern part of the country, to Singapore's residents.

Several officials of tourism bureaus of China and Singapore attended the event, including Qin Yan, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, who spoke via video link.

Qin said that the 14th National Winter Games are set to be held in the autonomous region and she hopes more Singapore residents will visit.

A photo exhibition titled "Discovering the Beauty of China's Ice and Snow" was also held at the event, allowing Singaporeans to enjoy the beautiful snow-covered scenery of northern China.

Shi Qiang, manager of a ski resort in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, told the Global Times that the ice and snow tourism resources in Xinjiang are abundant and with many high-level ski resorts, the autonomous region is one of the top skiing spots in China.

After China lifted its entry restrictions starting Sunday, many countries have also opened their arms for Chinese tourists. Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul as well as the minister of transport and minister of tourism and sports were present at Bangkok airport on Monday to welcome the first group of Chinese tourists on Monday.
