The year 2022 was highly significant and eventful for China's diplomatic achievements, especially in major country diplomacy. China's multifaceted and multidimensional global vision diplomacy has been praiseworthy, which touched every region of the world in a holistic manner, bringing far-reaching dividends to relevant countries, regions and the world at large. China has presented itself as a responsible global leader and genuinely contributed to the development and prosperity of underdeveloped and developing countries. China's diplomacy has brought world peace, stability, and prosperity during the year 2022.

China's diplomacy during 2022 has been marked as "major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics in an all-round way," which has made enormous contributions in upholding world peace, promoting common development, and creating a human community with a shared future through win-win cooperation. Even though the year 2022 was full of challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, simmering hot spot issues, great power competition, geopolitical conflicts, and bloc confrontations, with these challenges causing inflation and energy crises around the globe, China has been forthcoming in collaborating with all countries and regions in mitigating the challenges for the eventual benefit of relevant countries and service to humanity for the world at large.

Former Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi expressed that "the trends of transformation and turbulence are both evolving continuously and the tendencies toward unity and division are both surging and contending with each other." While appreciating developing countries, he added that "most of the developing countries have acted with greater purpose in standing together in solidarity and strengthening mutual cooperation, and they have responded to the many unprecedented changes with greater confidence." Chinese diplomacy vehemently rejects zero-sum competition and bloc confrontation as it is the product of the Cold War, therefore China has pursued hectic efforts in maintaining strategic stability and avoiding confrontation. Labeled as a competitor by the US, and despite US' provocations, trade wars, blockades and suppression, China has maintained a firm and benign posture and kept the lines of communication open.

China also pursued two global initiatives referred to as the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and the Global Security Initiative (GSI) with marked success. China proposed the GDI at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly debate in 2021 aimed at leading global development toward a new stage of coordinated, balanced, and inclusive growth. President Xi Jinping unveiled 32 measures in the year 2022 to implement GDI, which has been supported by more than 100 countries and many international organizations. President Xi also proposed GSI at the Bao Forum for Asia in April 2022 to offer Chinese solutions to mitigate global security challenges and achieve enduring peace, stability, and security. More than 70 countries have endorsed and supported this benign and noble undertaking by China, which is a testimony of China's efficacious diplomacy and trust reposed by the international community in China as a balancing actor in resolving global challenges in a highly professional and befitting manner.

China's splendid diplomacy is marked by exceptional achievements and successes during 2022. The stewardship, strategic guidance, and direction of President Xi through his impressive theoretical underpinnings "Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy" ushered Chinese foreign policy into a new era of major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics, which indeed demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility and accomplishment.

China's global vision is based on building an open, inclusive, and magnificent world that enjoys enduring peace, stability, prosperity, and common development through win-win cooperation for creating a human community with a shared future. China's peaceful development is the guarantor of Asia's development and enables positive global development. China shall capitalize on the diplomatic gains of the year 2022 with a strong sense of dedication, dynamism, and commitment and work toward new horizons during the year 2023.
