Dongning highway port in Heilongjiang to resume customs clearance on Friday

Dongning highway port in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province adjacent to Russia will officially resume customs clearance starting at 12 am on Friday, China Media Group reported.

According to the report,  travelers entering China through Dongning port will no longer be required to take a nucleic acid test, and the issuance of relevant visas for Chinese mainland residents to Russia and cross-border transportation will resume. 

Dongning port, along with the Dongning-Poltavka mutual trade zone, has been playing a significant role in promoting trade between China and Russia.

In 2022, the port's total trade value reached 16 billion yuan ($2.32 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 212 percent, and ranked first among all ports trading with Russia in Heilongjiang. 

Since its launch in 2015, the mutual trade zone has imported 62,000 tons of mutual trade goods with a value of 830 million yuan, according to official data.

The Heihe Travel Inspection Port in Heilongjiang resumed customs clearance on Wednesday, allowing 31 outbound tourists and 20 inbound tourists, as reported by people.cn on Thursday. Additionally, the Heihe highway port officially resumed two-way customs clearances for goods exchanges on February 10.

The first Transport Internationaux Routiers cross-border road freight line between Zhengzhou in Central China’s Henan Province and Moscow launched on Monday.   

These developments come as the trade between China and Russia reached $190.27 billion in 2022, representing a 29.3 percent increase compared to 2021, according to customs data.
