Austrian Ambassador to China Andreas Riecken, and Jan Nast director of Wiener Symphoniker met with National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) president Wang Ning on Monday and reached an important consensus on the deepening of humanistic exchanges between China and Austria and the expansion of practical cooperation between art institutions.

Wang said that both China and Austria have long histories and splendid cultures, and their people have friendly feelings for each other. The NCPA has long maintained close cooperation with Austrian art institutions and artists, playing an important role in promoting humanistic exchanges between the two countries. NCPA is willing to work with the Austrian Embassy in China to further expand exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in the field of culture and promote exchanges and mutual appreciation of civilizations through art.

Andreas Riecken spoke highly of the active role played by the NCPA in presenting the best of Austrian culture and art. He said that China and Austria have a good foundation and broad prospects in humanities exchanges. The embassy will strongly support and actively assist the NCPA to strengthen ties with Austrian art institutions, explore more areas and ways of cooperation and promote people-to-people contact between the two countries through art.

Jan Nast handed over the confirmation letter of joining the Beijing Forum for Performing Arts. After the meeting, Andreas Riecken watched the Wiener Symphoniker's "Romantic Night" concert in the NCPA.
