China's Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Thursday introduced 26 measures to support the country's high-quality economic development, including boosting auto consumption with optimized government management and improved services.

The ministry vowed to further promote auto consumption and implement the so-called "One-Window" service approach, under which applicants could submit only one set of materials to one window for handling various approval service items, He Wenlin, vice director of MPS' research office, said at a press conference.

It also pledged to facilitate rural residents' applications for vehicle license plates and other traffic-related permits and licenses, enhancing the utilization of road resources, and easing the passage of logistical vehicles.

In addition, the ministry will continue to advance online government services throughout the entire process, comprehensively implementing inter-provincial online services, and pilot the shared use of identification photos.

It will vigorously extend services into urban communities and rural areas, and facilitate maritime registration for vessels and personnel heading out to sea.

With the advancement of rural revitalization and regional coordinated development, the number of rural motor vehicles and drivers has grown rapidly, exceeding millions of units annually. The proportion of rural motor vehicle drivers nationwide has reached more than 50 percent, Wang Qiang, vice director of the Traffic Management Bureau under the ministry said.

The new measures will comprehensively promote the extension of traffic management services to rural regions, better meet the needs of rural residents for convenient services, and better serve the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, Wang stressed.

The Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, China's cabinet, issued guidelines on July 19 aimed at improving the business environment, enhancing policy support and strengthening legal protection to promote the growth of the private economy.

MPS is among many government departments actively implementing set measures to drive rapid economic development, in line with the guidelines outlined by the State Council.

Besides boosting auto consumption, the MPS also plans to vigorously promote people-centered urbanization, implement a flexible hukou or household registration policy, and provide visa issuance for specific users and multiple-entry visas for foreign business personnel coming to China, among other measures.

In the pursuit of promoting high-quality economic development, the ministry remains steadfast in ensuring safety and stability. Efforts are aimed at cultivating a secure and stable political and social environment, striving to provide a high level public security to facilitate high-quality development, He said.

Simultaneously, the ministry will seek to invigorate market entities, optimizing services for the enterprises and upholding market order to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, He noted.
