Russian children’s dance troupe wows Chinese audiences in debut tour

A renowned children's dance troupe from Russia staged brilliant performances in Beijing from August 12 to 17, according to the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing.

The troupe has won many awards at prestigious international art festivals and dance competitions. It has performed all over Russia and toured 17 countries. However, it is the first time for the troupe to come to China.

On August 12, the dance troupe performed at a concert themed Love for Russia at the Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing, showcasing the epitome of the Russian dance art and folk dances to the Chinese audiences.

The concert began with the dance Motherland. Young performers dressed in white, blue and red costumes, the colors of the Russian national flag, and delivered an entertaining performance. 

On August 14 and 16, the troupe delivered performances at the Tiantongyuan Cultural and Art Center in Changping district and the Tongzhou District Cultural Center. 

In addition to the routine program, young Russian dancers also presented their signature program Kalinka, adapted from a Russian folk song written in 1860. Such performances have always been a model of high-quality dance skills, and offered an unforgettable artistic spectacle for the audiences.

On August 17, the dance troupe performed alongside many other children's art troupes from China at the China Millennium Monument. 

The wonderful dance programs left an unforgettable impression on all the audiences, and their bright costumes were the finishing touch to a well-choreographed program.

In addition to concert performances, the Russian troupe also shared their expertise in several folk dance workshops. The participants not only engaged in lively and interesting training courses on basic movements in Russian folk dance, but also performed together with the troupe members.
