Beijing Comedy Theater reopens with new performances

China's only comedy-themed theater, Beijing Comedy Theater, released a series of events to mark its reopening on Tuesday in Beijing. According to Xu Jian, the theater's president, the reopening activities include a performance season, a public opening day, pop-up markets, and folk art demonstrations.

The first performance will be presented by the young crosstalk performer duo, Lu Xin and Yu Hao, as they are dedicated to promoting China's national folk arts.

Xu also mentioned that the theater is collaborating with other organizations to enhance children's education in sciences, as their latest work, "Youth from the Heaven," has already started ticket sales.

Regarding international arts exchanges, the theater plans to continue introducing and staging overseas classics and innovative pieces.

Bartok's "Bluebeard's Castle" by London Sinfonietta and Theatre of Sound will grace the theater with two nights of music on October 7 and 8.
