The 8th China Campus Theatre Festival, also known as the 27th BeSeTo Theatre Festival, and the 2023 Nanshan Theatre Festival will be held in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, in November.

The China Campus Theatre Festival is a national-level campus theater festival founded by the China Theatre Association in 2008. With students as the main body, it is held every two years. It has previously been held in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.

A total of 19 plays have been selected for the festival, covering various types of theater styles such as drama, opera, musical, children's play and puppet show, fully demonstrating the richness and diversity of campus theater.

The plays can be roughly divided into three categories: classic adaptations or literary adaptations, which are interpreted and performed in a contemporary way by young people; original works that are close to reality, reflecting student campus life or are closely related to the professional fields of their colleges; and excellent works with ethnic or local characteristics.

The festival also has cross-Straits cooperation plays and works related to the Greater Bay Area.

The World Theatre Forum will be held during the festival, with guests from China, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Georgia, Japan, South Korea and other countries.

Guests from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan of China will also be invited. They will discuss the inheritance, development and innovation of theater art in two sub-forums, explore the common values of humanity in theater exchange, and jointly create an international stage for mutual learning among civilizations.
