Recently, in a middle school in Binzhou city, East China’s Shandong Province, a 2.05115-megawatt PV power generation project was connected to the grid, providing clean energy for the campus and ensuring a green, eco-friendly and sustainable energy supply. As of press time, the project has generated 309,613 kilowatt-hours of electricity, with 83,040 kilowatt-hours connected to the grid and 226,573 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity supplied to the school, saving around 23,000 yuan in electricity costs.

With the advancement of “dual carbon” goals, China is strongly advocating for new energy production and usage, including PV.

PV is making its way into an increasing number of enterprises and even schools. These clean energy sources not only improve the energy consumption mix in the school with “greener” electricity, but also foster environmental awareness among students. Such deployment can enhance students’ ecological literacy by introducing the concept of green energy into the school.

Amid the national call for carbon emissions peak and carbon neutrality goals, the school decided to adopt PV power generation technology.

Upon receiving the project filing application, the State Grid Binzhou Power Supply Company promptly organized various professionals to conduct on-site surveys in order to form an optimal grid connection plan, ensuring that the project could be completed and accepted before the students returned to school.
