China is willing to enhance communication with Japan in areas including export controls and others, in order to promote the stable development of the bilateral economic and trade relationship, Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) spokesperson Shu Jueting said on Thursday.

China's commerce minister Wang Wentao met with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi in San Francisco on November 16, during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders' Meeting, and the two sides agreed to establish a dialogue mechanism on export controls between the two countries.

"The meeting of the two countries' leaders reaffirmed the positioning of comprehensively advancing the strategic and mutually beneficial relations between China and Japan, and reached a consensus to jointly build a constructive and stable China-Japan relationship that meets the demands of the new era," said Shu, adding that the two sides spoke highly of the newly established dialogue mechanism on export controls.

Shu stressed that China is willing to move forward with Japan to practice the consensus of the leaders of the two countries, enhance communication in multiple sectors including export controls, create positive conditions for the development of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, secure the stable operation of industrial and supply chains, and further promote the healthy development of the China-Japan economic and trade relationship.
