China's first domestically developed deep-sea drilling vessel, also the world's most advanced ship of its kind, was officially named Mengxiang, which means "Dream," on December 18, 2023. The vessel will make a trial voyage from Guangzhou, capital of South China's Guangdong Province soon, a key step in China's ocean exploration capacities and equipment modernization.
