As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, a new exhibition featuring artworks by  young Chinese and French artists kicked off recently at the National Art Museum of China.

The exhibition reviews Yishu 8's commitment to supporting the residency, exchange and artistic creation of young artists from China and France over the past decade. It displays 56 works, including paintings, sculptures, videos and installation works from 34 artists.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Bertrand Lortholary, French ambassador to China, Wu Weishan, director of the National Art Museum of China, Christine Cayol, founder of Yishu 8, and Su Dan, the curator of the exhibition gave speeches.

These works not only show the artistic outlook of contemporary young artists, but also present a different artistic language due to the new inspiration sparked by the residency project. The residency at Yishu 8 has triggered the innovative spirit of the artists, and their exploration of a country, a city and a culture are displayed in front of the audience through these works.

The exhibition is set to run until Sunday.
