The Prix Luciole, a new accolade celebrating outstanding film poster design, was introduced at this year's Cannes Film Festival. This award was established jointly by Chinese movie ticketing platform, Taopiaopiao, and the Alliance Cinéaste Chine-Europe (ACCE).

On Sunday, the organizers revealed to the Global Times that Sheri Linden, a veteran film critic for The Hollywood Reporter; Lionel Avignon, creative director and founder of Hartland Villa visual design studio; and Thomas Pibarot, expert advisor for the Cannes Critics' Week, will serve as judges for the inaugural Prix Luciole. The three members will select the winners for the Best Poster Award, Jury Prize, and Special Mention from the official and parallel sections of this year's Festival de Cannes.

The organizers expressed their enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, "We invite creators, artists, filmmakers, and audiences to join us in exploring the evocative and imaginative world of poster art through the Prix Luciole for Movie Posters competition. Together, let's explore the endless possibilities of creativity, aesthetics, and cinema."

The Prix Luciole award ceremony will be held on May 24 at Le Gray d'Albion in Cannes. The goal is to heighten recognition of talented designers and provide a stage for filmmakers to exhibit their artistic visions, thereby fostering wider engagement and enriched dialogue.
