State Grid Taizhou Luqiao District Power Supply Company: 'Safe Electricity Usage' Activity in the Summer Holiday to Increase the Consciousness of Safety of School Children
Luxi Power Supply Station of State Grid Taizhou Luqiao District Power Supply Company and Luqiao Primary School paired up on August 14 to carry out the "Safe Electricity Usage" activity in the summer holiday to increase the consciousness of safety of school children.
In the early morning, more than 10 power supply employees led 15 schoolchildren into the construction site of Yuanzhuyu village in Luoyang Neighborhood. An employee onsite taught the pupils about electricity generation, transmission and household connection, and introduced the advantages of live-line operation. Then, the "electricity teachers" led the group of energetic students back to the "classroom," where the teachers explained the precautions for safe use of electricity in daily life to the students in plain language, so as to enhance their awareness of safe electricity usage and let them know more about electricity and electric safety.
Also, in view of enhancing students' participation and enthusiasm, the "electricity teachers" left an interesting Q&A spell after vividly explaining the safe use of electricity. The students vied with one another and spoke enthusiastically with their hands up, and the class atmosphere was very warm. The power supply staff members awarded fans, picture books and stationery printed with the knowledge of safe use of electricity to the students who answered correctly. In the happy laughter, the "electricity teachers" sent the knowledge about electric power to the heart of every student.
"The teachers taught us a lot about the safe use of electricity. I think, it is very helpful for me to change my unsafe habits in the use of electricity. The knowledge I have learned will not only protect me, but is also beneficial to others as I will be able to teach them," said Liu Siqing, a third-grade student at Luqiao Primary School.
Impressed by the activity, one of the parents said that "through vivid explanations from a professional perspective in this exciting activity, pupils can master the knowledge of electricity generation, transmission and safe and economical use of electricity in a cheerful learning atmosphere, which has improved students' awareness of electricity risk prevention, promoted the safe use of campus and home electricity, and supported the healthy growth of students."
