On September 11, 30 acres of corn in Lijiaying Village, Shangji Town, Xichuan County, Nanyang, were ripening. Under the supervision and guidance of Li Jianbo and Jin Zicheng from the Shangji Power Supply Station, two corn harvesters successfully navigated around the 10kV line poles and electrified well facilities at the edge of the field, shuttling back and forth. The plump corn ears were harvested and threshed in one pass. "The driver's line of sight is easily blocked by corn stalks, which could hit the poles and well platforms, affecting the watering during the subsequent sowing. Fortunately, you came to guide us," said villager Cao Jianli to Li Jianbo.
Corn is a key food crop in China. In Henan Province, known as the "Central Plains Granary," the area of corn cultivation has been increasing year by year, with output exceeding 65 million tons for six consecutive years. This year, the total planting area for autumn grain crops, including corn, has stabilized at over 76 million mu, laying a solid foundation for ensuring the annual grain security.
As the autumn grain harvest is about to fully unfold, the State Grid Henan Electric Power Company has studied and formulated eight measures to ensure the electricity supply for autumn grain production, including load forecasting management, safety electricity use education, and local power supply services. Relying on the three-level power supply service grid and more than 300 State Grid Henan Electric Power Jiao Yulu and Taihang Hongqi Canal Communist Party Member Service Teams, they are earnestly implemented to provide high-quality, convenient, standardized, and sincere services for the autumn harvest, helping to ensure every grain is stored and to shoulder the heavy responsibility of grain security.
At the same time, State Grid Henan Electric Power has increased the frequency of on-site services such as customer-side electrical equipment inspections and technical guidance, actively connecting with grain production and processing enterprises. For the electricity use of large-scale electric drying equipment, through a "one-to-one contact, direct service" mechanism for equipment owners, they have strengthened electricity use safety guidance to ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment.
