Greece: New book reading session launched in Beijing to better understand Greek civilization through archaeology

With the support of the Embassy of Greece, a new book reading session was launched in Beijing on January 12. The reading session focused on the book titled How to Fit All of Ancient Greece in an Elevator, by archaeologist Theodore Papakostas. The Ambassador of Greece to China, Evgenios Kalpyris, who wrote the preface to the book. 

Ioanna Kakalidi, head of the Public Diplomacy Office of the Greek Embassy in China, attended the event and shared with the readers that, "For Chinese readers, this book can help the public better understand the Greek civilization - the sister civilization of the Chinese civilization in the West."

During the reading session, Luo Tong, a translator and researcher of ancient Greek literature and theatre joined Qian Yingchao, a lecturer, and head of Greek Department in the School of European Languages and Cultures of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, had a panel discussion and interacted with the readers.
