The Russian Cultural Centre in Beijing hosted a thematic program "Back to the USSR," on December 20, 2024. Themed "history-patriotism," the event consisted of a concert and a lecture, aiming to introduce Russian history to the Chinese audience. 

Representatives of students from the former Soviet Union who studied in universities in Beijing staged performances in Russian style. They also offered a lecture on Russia's geography, economy and natural resources.

The Chinese guests shared their impressions of the Soviet Union, recalling with warmth and nostalgia the times of their lives and studies there.

At the event, audiences also explored an exhibition of photographs from Russia's TASS news agency. 

The exhibition presents the history of concerts and other events that were held in different cities of Russia and China, as well as important stages in the relations between the two countries.

The year 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. On this occasion, both 2024 and 2025 have been marked as the China-Russia Years of Culture. 

At least 115 events have been held in 2024, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said.
