When asked by the media about the Chinese mainland's response to Taiwan's announcement on Tuesday to initiate anti-dumping investigations into mainland steel products and beer, and whether further trade countermeasures, including the potential cancellation of the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), would be taken by the mainland, Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, stated on Wednesday, "We have taken note of the relevant situation. The Taiwan island should treat mainland enterprises fairly and properly handle the related issues."
