The Consulate General of the People's Republic of Bangladesh in Kunming hosted a reception to celebrate the 54th anniversary of Bangladesh Independence and National Day on April 11.

During the event, Consul General Mohammed Khaled reviewed the traditional friendly exchanges between Bangladesh and China, and also introduced the economic and social development in Bangladesh. Khaled stated that against the backdrop of the year of people-to-people exchanges in 2025, he and his team would like to promote further exchanges between Bangladesh and Southwest China's Yunnan Province. 

The year 2025 marks the 50th anniversary of China-Bangladesh diplomatic ties. Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office Yang Shaocheng attended the event. Lecturers and students from Yunnan University and Yunnan Minzu University performed Bangladeshi songs and dances.
