Nepal: Food Festival 2025 hosted in Beijing to deepen connections

Marking the 70th anniversary of the Nepal-China diplomatic relations, the Embassy of Nepal in China hosted the Nepal Food Festival 2025 in Beijing on April 21. Themed "Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Nepal-China Relations: Tasting Nepal Flavors, Deepening Connections," the event promoted Nepal's rich cultural tourism resources to diplomats and delegates from the tourism sector. 

Arzu Rana Deuba, minister for Foreign Affairs of Nepal sent her video greetings to the event, saying "I hope this food festival will tempt you all to come to Nepal, sample more of the Nepali food, participate in the Nepali culture, and admire our scenic and natural beauty." 

Krishna Prasad Oli, ambassador of Nepal to China, said, "The festival also symbolizes the shared values, rich culture, and the warm lifestyle of Nepali people. As we commemorate the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Nepal and China this year, the festival is yet another way to deepen our people-to-people ties," said the ambassador. 

Nepal received more than 100,000 tourists from China in 2024, a surge of 67 percent year-on-year, Xu Peng, vice secretary-general of World Tourism Alliance, introduced in his speech.
