The Global Times and the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) signed a three-year comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing on Thursday.

The agreement of partnership was signed by Fan Zhengwei, the Global Times Party secretary, president, and editor-in-chief, and Wang Daquan, the CSCSE Party Secretary and director. They have reached a consensus on cooperation in areas such as jointly promoting the "Study in China" educational brand, assisting international students to tell Chinese stories well, co-releasing reports, as well as conducting researches relating to the country-based international students' demography. Such agendas contribute to the national strategy for advancing opening-up of education.

Fan expressed that education is a vital component of international communication and a key resource for enhancing the global influence of media organizations. The Global Times and the CSCSE's joint efforts on the "Study in China" brand is therefore of great potential. He said that sharing genuine accounts of international students' experiences in China would inspire more foreign students to choose China as their study destination. As an organization deeply committed to social responsibility, the Global Times has been actively involved in educational development and the public welfare sector. The collaboration between the Global Times and the CSCSE encompasses extensive areas.

At the signing event, Wang said that enhancing the international influence and core competitiveness of education is a strategic task outlined in China's 2024-2035 master plan on building China into a leading country in education. The CSCSE is committed to providing end-to-end services for both inbound and outbound international students. The strategic collaboration with the Global Times holds significant importance, as it will strongly boost the global promotion of the "Study in China" brand and jointly enhance the ability of Chinese and international students to effectively share China's stories.

Besides the "Study in China" program, the two sides also discussed collaboration potential in other areas. These include co-hosting international education forums, advancing the development of a digital application for international student services, and strengthening news publication featuring the educational field.
