Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan's armed forces were on high alert and fully prepared in light of recent regional tensions, according to Pakistani media outlet Geo News.

Speaking to Geo News, Dar emphasised that Pakistan could not afford to take any risks and that the recent military response was purely a defensive measure.

Previously, in response to India's unprovoked attacks on Pakistani territory by India, the Pakistan Army has launched a military operation, named Bunyan ul Marsoos, targeting multiple Indian military installations, according to the report. Pakistan's offensive came shortly after it said India had fired missiles at three air bases earlier hours of Saturday, the report said.

Speaking to Geo News soon after the attack, Dar, a seasoned politician, clarified that the action taken by Pakistan was defensive in nature and fully justified.

"The world must now play its role in making India realize the gravity of its mistakes," said Dar, condemning India's actions over the past 48 hours, which he described as a "continuous stream of lies," according to Geo News.

India's NDTV reported that a senior Jammu and Kashmir local officer Raj Kumar Thappa, was killed in Pakistani shelling.

India attacked three Pakistani military bases, including one on the outskirt of Islambad, with drones and missiles, the Hindu reported.

The Pakistani side has not responded to the reports so far.
