The Beijing Russian Cultural Center hosted a students' activity to honor Russian Language Day, as well as the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin on June 6.
The occasion has become an annual routine event among students who study or major in the Russian language.
Russian Language Day was set by the decision of the UN Department of Public Information in 2010.
On this day, literary events are held all over the world to celebrate Pushkin Day.
This event is of great significance to experts and scholars in the field of Russian language teaching, Russian students in universities, and the majority of Russian language lovers.
Tatiana Urzhumtseva, director of the Beijing Russian Cultural Center, welcomed the students, and encouraged them to learn more about the Russian culture in the efforts to contribute to the bilateral friendship.
Celebrating this grand festival together, more than 10 universities and middle schools from Beijing and Tianjin, as well as students from the Russian language training class of the center, went on stage to perform wonderful Russian songs, poetry recitations, and drama selections.
With background music and the Russian style costumes, the programs won waves of applauds.
